End of an Era. I rode my bike to work to show it to a potential buyer today. I didn't think much of it, since he is the first person to look at the bike. He showed up on time with an envelope filled with thick stash of $100 bills in his hand. He rode the bike around the block, came back in less than 5 minutes and said, "I will take it". I stood there thinking to myself, "What? I will take it?" I paused in disbelief, "That's it? It's that simple? This is it? This is goodbye?"

All of sudden, I realized that I will be letting go a part of me. Even though I have been neglecting it and allowing it to sit in the garage collecting dust, emotions welled up inside. After all, this is my dream bike. It has kept me excited Saturday mornings on those twisty canyon rides on route 9. It has changed the way people look at me and has given me the extra attention that boost my confidence. It has enabled me to talk to random strangers with enthusiasm. It has defined a side of me that longs to be set free and on the edge. It has been a passion.

It's true. It is just as Wellington said, "This is an end of an Era". I pray that as I let go of this passion, God may turn my focus into something more worthwhile.

Recently, God has been teaching me that I have been living my life trying to please others and to be praised by others. My heart's desire has always been that when I die, others may see me as a man of God. Yes, there is nothing wrong with being seen as a good Christian. However, I am missing so much more. Life is not about drawing attention to myself. I should live my life so that there is less of me and more of God. That when others see me, they may see God and Glorify God instead.

"Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us." 1 Peter 2:12
