Memorial Service. Friday, drove down to LA to attend my uncle's memorial service. Through his wife, son, daughter and friends, I got to know him, his personality, his character a bit better. A humble man, detail oriented and always putting others before himself.
God really loved my uncle. My uncle retired last summer and although he did not know what's ahead of him, God knew. As a child, my uncle would accompany my great grandma to church. But it wasn't until last year, did he suddenly have a desire to attend church again. God knew how much time he had left and wanted him to experience His love. Through the short period of time that he attended church, he thirst for God's truth and studied the meaning of God's Words. Within a few months, he wanted to be baptized. As he suffered from Parkinson's, Lymphoma Cancer, and Diabetes, people around him all wondered how a new believer like him could have such a strong grasp of God's peace and hope.
Looking back, we can see God's mercy and grace on my uncle. Even though, we miss him, but we know that God intends to glorify Himself through my uncle because my uncle has blessed others and pointed back to Him.
