To love and be loved. I went to Fry's during lunch. As I was walking out, I saw a little girl that looked a lot like Shirley Temple. She had the same curly blonde hair. Standing next to her was a huge man over 6 feet tall; probably her dad. As they showed their receipts at the exit, the Fry's employee opened up the little girl's booklet and drew a huge happy face with his highlighter. She was overjoyed. The adult next to her, motioned to the little girl in sign language. I could almost figure out, he meant "What do you have to say?" And the little girl responded with a cheerful, loud but sweet "Thank you!". As they walked in the parking lot, the little girl grasped the man's hand and looked up with an embracing smile and said "I love you... I love you...". When there was no expressions on his face, she did sign language to him. He looked down, paused... and did sign language back to her.

Lost and found. Twenty some years ago (1983 to be exact) when my mom was ordained as a pastor, the elders of the church gave her a gold cross to commemorate the event. I had been wearing this gold cross for a few years now. About a week ago, the chain that held this cross dropped into the toilet. Apparently the chain was broken, but the cross was no where to be found. I searched all over the house, the car, places that I had been, and after a while, I completely gave up hope. I felt really bad about it and was unable to sleep that night when I discovered that it was missing. I know it is just a cross, yet, there is no other cross in this world that can bring the same meaning.
8 days later, on sunday morning, my mom miraculously found the cross laying in the parking lot of our townhouse. I don't know how she spotted it, but you could imagine there was much rejoicing in our household. Although it is a little bent out of shape, it is even more precious than ever before. This cross symbolizes God's love for me and not to ever give up hope in Him.
