Keeping it simple. I had a vision... I want to do God's work. I want to be placed out in the field proclaiming God's good news and sharing His love. After all, life isn't worth living without sacrifice. When I think about all the responsibilities, all the required planning, all that I got to work with, and all the steps that it takes to get there, I can't help but grow weary. The desire is strong, the passion is there, yet the burden is heavy. I don't want to be where I am. But I am stuck, pinned down, trapped. I can't even muster enough strength and courage to get up from where I am. Too tired, too afraid, too frustrated... Will I ever be where God wants me to be? Will I ever be ready? Is this my own battle? If it is, I have been utterly defeated.
This morning as I read through 1 John 3, His living words lifted my spirit. It made me realize that I, complicated life. I, set my own expectations. I, focused on doing great works for Him. I can almost hear Him say: aiya, silly enoch.. there is only one simple command for you.. love Me and love others. That's it. That is all I expect of you. You don't have to do anything other than that. You can even be a beggar on the street and still do what I commanded. It is simple as that.

Cambria. Last weekend stayed at a vacation home in Cambria with iMel's friends. It was a charming house with fireplace and ocean view from the balcony. Thank God for a memorable weekend. There were seven of us. Everyone was so eager to help out with the cooking, doing the dishes, BBQing, and taking part. We ate, talked, walked along sea-cliff, drove to Morro bay, ate, played frisbee, sequence, ate some more, watched sunset, took pictures, sequence, ate, attended local church, and.. oh did i mention we ate? hehe.. ;) I think we had enough food to last us a week.
Memorable moments:
-driving around downtown Cambria at 1am in the morning looking for the keys to our vacation home. (felt like we were on that show "amazing race"..)
-looking at the night sky filled with stars with sounds of splashing waves in the background
-having a special someone tuck me in bed
-after several turns of sequence, susan realized that she's been playing with 4 cards instead of 6
-successfully finding the switch for the heater at the back of the house
-watching the sunset as we ate dinner
-spending devotional time first thing in the morning with iMel
-walking on white sand beach
See pictures here.
