True Self Revealed. Few weeks ago, the youth group at church had an iron chef competition. Being a youth counselor, I was entitled to be one of the honorary judges to taste the food. Now, I know the youth put in a lot of time, effort and love to whip up the fancy seven course meal. So I tried to put on the best face I could while tasting each dish. (Careful not to hurt anybody's feelings.)

Today, I found out from one of the youth that of all the judges, my face was the most "interesting" to observe. According to them, my face cringed, shrivelled, and contorted?!? It looked like I was in much pain..

I guess no matter how hard we try to hide or suppress our true self, we are bound to show it when we are under the spotlight. Sometimes I feel that my true self is so nasty, ugly and even I myself don't want to have anything to do with it. Nothing is beautiful about it. The amazing thing, and the thing that doesn't make much sense is that, God sees the rot that we are, yet He still accept us, love us. What could a perfect being like Him possibly want from a imperfect being like me?

I pray that God will cleanse me from the inside out, so all the uglienss will disappear and everything comes out of me is presentable.
